Seems that I've been tagged

I have been tagged (twice now, actually) but to be honest, I really am not that interesting of a person. Can that count as one of my seven things??? Hey, it is my seven so why not . . .

Here is what I am supposed to do:
-Link your tagger and list these rules on your blog. I was tagged by Fishinmom and by Michelle.
-Share 7 facts about yourself on your blog, some random, some weird.
-Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blogs
-Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog .

1. My degree is in Journalism and Mass Communication but I have never had (or even applied for) a paying job in that field. I currently work in IT, which I have no formal training in or certifications for, which amazes me.

2. I have a very unusual family trait in which I inherited flat finger nails (and toe nails too). We can trace this back at least five generations in my family. The trait seems to be predominant in the women of the family. My brother (who could care less about such things) has beautiful fingernails.

3. We got my son's name from a sign on a sandwich shop. (Hey, time was running out and we couldn't come up with anything . . .)

4. I hate hamburgers but love roast beef.

5. When I used to have time to read, I would read the ending of the book first. I also usually read magazines back to front too.

6. When I was a senior in college, three friends and I published a literary magazine to promote diversity on campus which won an award from the Society of Professional Journalists.

7. Did I mention I am not that interesting of a person?

Hmm . . . let's see who I can bestow this torture, I mean honor, on . . . How about . . .
Anyone who has downloaded one of my quickpages. (BTW- If you find use for my quickpages, I would love to see your layouts!)

Have a great rest of the week.

Password Problem

I didn't realize the folder I had put the Remember When Quickpage in had a password on it. You should be able to get it now without any problems. Thanks for letting me know it wasn't working. Please let me know if there are any further problems.

Blessings!

B is for Brother. . . in my ABC book, at least. For some reason I just could not get this layout to come together. I have spent way too long on it and still am not sure I like it.

Goodbye Ruthie

Please join me in prayer for the family of Ruthie (Ruth Singer - Sugarshack Scraps). Ruthie lost her battle to cancer recently after only recieving the diagnosis a short time ago. I had the opportunity to work with Ruthie briefly early this year after being referred to her for assistance with a project I was working on. She was such a sweetheart and did so much for the digital scrapbooking community. Her talent and sweet spirit will certainly be missed.

Concrete Jungle Quickpage

Happy Father's Day! I know, I am a little late for Father's Day. I have spent over 1,000 miles in the car since Thursday and when I wasn't in the car most of time I had no access to the Internet or even cell service. But that did give me some time to do some scrapping and quickpage designing for you. This was made using Concrete Jungle by Janniscrap Designs. Thanks, JanniDee, for this great kit!
Here is the layout I made the quickpage from.
Link Expired.
Have a great week.

Hummie's World Quote Challenge

I was playing with the quickpage posting bonus for the quote challenge I am hosting at Hummie's world this month. Here is what I came up with. I even managed to work the quote and a font challenge both in one layout. This is hubby with both of our children in the hospital when they were born and then a photo taken last month on a family camping trip.

Just Chatter

Sorry - no prezzies for you today. :( Been a little crazy around here as I got a new laptop for my anniversary (and Christmas and any other holiday for the next year . . .thanks hubby! Love it! It has TWO 320 GB hard drives in it. No more toting around that EHD to my crops or when I am traveling). So I have been trying to set that up for me, my old laptop up for hubby and our old desktop up for the kids. I figured since Shane was starting school in the fall it is probably time to let him play on the computer some. I have really avoided it because I think he already has too much technology time with his TV addiction.

I haven't really felt that creative though anyway. In the last week, my Mom was in the hospital for most of the week and I couldn't be there and I also had two friends pass away. One was 95 and lived a long and fulfilling life but she will be missed by many. The other friend was only 29 - such a sad thing for life to end before it was even really lived.

But at least I have all of you to cheer me up.

- Thanks for all of your comments on the pages I designed for Lisa. They were most appreciated.

- Sherah, thanks so much for stopping by and leaving some love. I really had fun playing with your CU grab bags.

- Lei - How cool! It is kind of surreal to see something I made being used by someone else and did a fab job too. (She used my quote tag to make a brag book page which you can get free here):

And a special thanks to Vicki aka Digilover's Addiction for the wonderful surprise she gave me this week.

Isn't she just the sweetest? Think I will pass this on to some others as it really brightened my day. I'll just have to think about who first though.

Before I got finished typing this, I received another call with more sad news. Someone I know, Jill, and her child (and family) are in need of much prayer. Her infant was involved in an accident and the doctors are telling her that there is a blood clot on the little one's brain. Please remember them in your prayers.

Til next time. . .

Lady Bug Garden Quickpages

Update 09-11-09 Links Expired.

Update (06-21-08): Lisa has moved on to her next kit so the quickpages are no longer on her blog but you can still get them here. Be sure to check out Lisa's blog though for her latest wonderful designs.

Lisa Minor has a new mega kit coming out tomorrow that you won't want to miss. She had a single kit CT call for some quickpage designers and since I had some free time, oh wait, I didn't really have the free time but I really love her stuff and making quickpages so even though I shouldn't have because I have been stretching myself a little thin these days, I applied. The new kit is so fun! She will giving it away in parts tomorrow on her blog starting with the quickpages that were designed for it (including mine).

Here is my contribution:

I also did this one without the photos on the side in case you wanted a place to journal.

Be sure to check Lisa's blog on Monday so you can start collecting all of this colorful, fun kit.

Happy creating!

ABC's of Me Challenge

It is time for the letter "A" in the ABC's of Me Challenge at My Scrap Shop. I had ideas for a couple of A words but ended up choosing Aunt for my A letter. I still might do that Amusement Park layout though, which was my second choice.

(Created using ABC Jump by Digitreats.)

It is not too late for you to join us in this challenge. You can use any A word you want, the muses are just there to inspire you in case you run short on ideas.

Here are some ideas for the letter A which the MSS Muses came up with: , active, age, aunt, awards/accomplishments, Athletic(s)/Athlete, my Attitude toward life, what I adore most, Amusement Parks, and adulthood, ambitions, scrapbook addict, first apartment, greatest accomplishment, favorite amusement park, favorite animal, favorite author, favorite actor/actress.

Now go scrap about YOU and post it in the forum!

Hummie's World Quickpages and Quote Challenge

Links Expired.

Here are two quickpages I made for the May Designer Color Palette over at Hummie's World. There were lots more great submissions but, unfortunately, time seems to have to have gotten away from me during the month of May and I only got a chance to work with two of them. Be sure to check out all the rest of the great submissions in the forum though. You can find the link for the quickpages here.

This one was from Mish Mash by AC Scrapping.

And this one is from Summer Vacation Sampler by Tahera.

Over in the quote challenge forum, we are going to be honoring those special Daddies in our lives (be that our own, our childrens' or just another great Dad we know).

Here is the quote I have selected:

"Daddies don't just love their children every now and then. It's a love without end." (Aaron Barker)

For those who are not country music fans, it is from the chorus of a song George Straight sang a few years ago:
Let me tell you a secret about a father's love,
A secret that my daddy said was just between us.
He said, "Daddies don't just love their children every now and then.
It's a love without end, amen, it's a love without end, amen."

Feel free to use even more of the lyrics than the two lines above, if you would like.

Here is a preview of the posting bonus for layouts posted between June 1 and June 30.

Hope you can come play along with us!
